Using Find and Replace Feature in MS PowerPoint 2016

When you are dealing with the longer presentations it can be very difficult as well as time taking activity to locate a specific word or phrase. But MS PowerPoint has got a Find feature which will let you automatically search any word from your presentation. It will allow you to change words or phrases by using Replace feature. Finding Text in MS PowerPoint:

  • 1st of all you need to click the Find command from the Home tab.
  • We will notice that a dialog box will appear where you need to type in the text which you want to find in the Find what: field and then click on Find Next.
  • Now if the text is found it will be selected.

Replacing the Text:

In order to replace the text with other word you need to follow these simple steps.

  • 1st of all you need to click the Replace command from the Home tab.
  • Now you will notice that a dialog box will appear type in the text which you want to find in the Find what: field.
  • Now type the text which you want to replace in with the Replace with: field and then click on Find Next.
  • Now if the text is found then it will be selected.
  • Now if you need to replace it select one of the replace options. Replace will replace individual instances and Replace All will replace all the instances.
  • With these steps the selected text will be replaced with the other text in all the presentation.

Formatting Pictures in MS PowerPoint 2016

MS PowerPoint 2016 offers various different ways of formatting pictures into your slide show. MS PowerPoint has got Picture Tool for making it easy to edit the image in some very innovative ways. MS PowerPoint will let you change the picture style and shape, crop as well as compress pictures, add border as well as add artistic effects. Cropping an Image

Cropping an image means removing an unwanted portion from your image. Cropping comes in handy when you want to emphasize on a specific portion of the image. For cropping you need to follow these simple steps.

  • 1st of all you need to select the image which you want to crop the you will notice that a Format tab appears.
  • Now on the Format tab you need to click the Crop command.
  • Cropping handles will appear around the image and now you need to click and drag one of the handles for cropping the image.
  • Make sure that the mouse is right over the black cropping handle so that you don’t select the resizing handle accidentally.
  • Now you need to click on the Crop command once again and the image will be cropped.
  • Crop an Image to a Shape:
  • Select the image which you want to crop and then click the Format tab.
  • Now click the crop drop-down arrow and hover the mouse over Crop to Shape, then select the desired shape from drop-down menu that appears.
  • The image will appear formatted as the shape.

Adding a Border to an Image:

  • Select the image which you need to add a border to and then click the Format tab.
  • Now click the Picture Border command and you will notice that a drop-down menu will appear.
  • Now you can select a color, weight of the border and select whether the border line is dashed.
  • Now with these steps you will see a border will appear around the image.

Inserting Pictures in MS Word 2016

In MS PowerPoint 2016 you can enhance your presentations by adding pictures. The presentations will become more interesting and engaging once you add pictures into them. You have the option to add the pictures from a file on your computer onto any slide. It has also got tools for finding the Online pictures and screenshots for your presentations. Inserting a Picture form a File:

For inserting a picture from a file you need to follow these simple steps.

  • 1st of al you need to select the Insert tab and then click the Pictures command in the Images group.
  • You will notice that a dialog box will appear. Locate and select the desired image file and then click Insert.
  • The picture will appear on the currently selected slide.

Inserting Online Pictures:

If you have not got the required picture in your computer you can opt for fonding it online for adding to your presentation. MS PowerPoint offers two options for finding online pictures. These options include OneDrive and Bing Image Search.

OneDrive: You can insert the images into your presentations stored in your OneDrive. You can link online accounts with Microsoft account like Facebook or Flickr etc.

Bing Image Search: Thus option can be used for searching the Internet for images.

For inserting the online pictures you need to follow these simple steps.

  • 1st of all you need to select the Insert tab and then you need to click the Online Pictures command.
  • The Insert Pictures dialog box will appear.
  • Now you need to select either Bing Image Search or your OneDrive.
  • After selecting the option you need to press Enter key and your search results will appear in the dialog box.
  • Now select the desired image and then click Insert.
  • You will see the image will appear on the currently selected slide.

Page Layout in MS Word 2016

MS Word offers a very wide range of page layouts and formatting options which will affect how the content will appear on the page. You can customize the paper size, page margins and page orientation which depends on how you want your document to appear. MS Word offers page orientation options which includes portraits and landscape. Landscape means the page is oriented in horizontal direction and portrait means the page is oriented in vertical direction.

Changing the Page Orientation:

  • 1st of all you need to select the Layout tab.
  • In the next step you need to click Orientation command in the page setup group.
  • You will notice that a drop-down menu will appear. Click on either Portrait or Landscape for changing the page orientation.
  • The page orientation oof the document will be changed.

Changing the Page Size:

MS Word has got a wide range of predefined page sizes to select from.

  • 1st of all you need to select the layout tab and then click the Size command.
  • A drop-down menu will appear and the current page size is highlighted. You can click the desired predefined page size.
  • The page size of the document will be modified.

Using a Custom Page Size:

MS Word lets you to customize the page size in the page Setup dialog box.

  • 1st of all you need to click Size from the Layout tab and then select More paper Sizes from the drop-down menu.
  • The page Setup dialog box will appear.
  • In the next step you need to adjust the values for Width and Height and after that click OK.
  • The page size of the document will be modified.
